Community Guidelines
Last Updated: March 2, 2026
I want the comments section to be thoughtful, fun, and lively—without becoming hostile, unsafe, or spammy.
1) Be a good human
- Disagree with ideas, not with personal attacks.
- No harassment, hate speech, or discrimination.
- No threats or encouragement of violence.
2) Profanity policy (context matters)
A curse word or two can be fine when it’s contextually relevant (e.g., excitement or frustration about the topic).
Not okay (not an exhaustive list):
- profanity used to target or demean others
- slurs or hateful language
- repeated abusive profanity intended to provoke or intimidate
- targeted harassment (even without slurs)
3) Links are allowed, but don’t be shady
Links can be helpful, but comments that include links may be held for review—especially if they look spammy.
Do not post:
- pornographic links
- malware/phishing/scam links
- link farms or SEO spam
4) No spam or automation
No bot submissions, bulk posting, or repetitive promotional content. If behavior looks automated or abusive, it may be blocked or rate-limited.
5) Respect privacy
Don’t post private or personal information about others (doxxing). If you wouldn’t want it posted about you, don’t post it about someone else.
6) Moderation, visibility, and automation
Comments may be:
- posted immediately,
- held for review,
- blocked, or
- removed.
If a comment is removed or deleted, it may display as “Comment deleted” to preserve thread context.
To keep the community healthy, I may use automated systems, analytics tools, and AI-assisted technologies to monitor activity, detect abuse, enforce these guidelines, and improve the experience.
7) Reporting
If you see content that violates these guidelines, use the Report link. Reports help keep the space healthy.
8) Consequences
Violations can result in:
- comment removal
- account restrictions
- suspension of commenting privileges
I’ll try to be fair, but I’m not obligated to provide warnings or explanations.
9) Keep it constructive
This is a public place. Bring sources when helpful, assume good intent when possible, and aim to add value to the conversation.
